Sustainability Acts

Act ONE: 5 products per year.

Researchers found that to be able to meet the standards of the Paris act concerning CO2 emission, people should only buy 5 new fashion products per year.

At ONE, we take this information to heart. Therefore, as part of our sustainability efforts, we will encourage our customers to purchase no more than 5 items per year. Through communication we want to emphasize the importance of responsible consumption and to not exceed this number.

It’s a conscious step towards reducing our collective carbon footprint, preserving our planet, and ensuring a more sustainable future for generations to come.

Act 2: Use what you produce.

No overstock. That’s our goal. It means that every material, every resource, and every design has a purpose. We are committed to reducing waste and ensuring that every piece of clothing we create serves a meaningful function. We obtain that by our approach of maintaining limited production amounts.

Act 3: sustainable fabrics.

At ONE, we’re committed to crafting clothing that seamlessly blends style and sustainability. We proudly feature a thoughtfully curated selection of eco-friendly and responsible fabrics, including Tencel, organic cotton, organic linen, and recycled polyester.

Tencel: Sourced from eucalyptus and beech trees, Tencel offers breathability and durability through a closed-loop, waste-minimizing production process.

Organic Cotton: Pure and pesticide-free, our organic cotton supports ethical farming practices and eco-conscious choices for a comfortable and sustainable wardrobe.

Organic Linen: Naturally breathable and kind to the planet, organic linen requires fewer resources and promotes regenerative farming methods.

Recycled Polyester: Breath new life into post-consumer plastic bottles and textile waste with our recycled polyester, reducing waste and supporting a cleaner, greener world.

With ONE, you can embrace style, adventure, and sustainability in one conscious fashion choice.”

Act 4: Lean supply chain.

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond just our choice of fabrics. We’ve built a lean supply chain that allows us to minimize overproduction, ensuring that each piece of clothing is crafted with purpose. While our delivery may not be as lightning-fast as some traditional e-commerce stores, this conscious decision is part of our sustainable approach.

By minimizing overproduction, we not only reduce waste but also play a significant role in curbing CO2 emissions. The ‘fast fashion’ industry often contributes to excessive carbon emissions due to rushed production and transportation processes. At ONE, we choose a more responsible path, focusing on quality, ethical practices, and a smaller carbon footprint.

We believe that making a sustainable choice doesn’t mean sacrificing style or comfort. It means making thoughtful decisions that benefit the environment and our future. With ONE, you’re not just investing in fashion; you’re investing in a more sustainable, eco-friendly world. Thank you for choosing to be part of our sustainable journey.”

Act 5: Quality = longlivity.

We firmly believe that quality is the cornerstone of longevity, and longevity is at the heart of sustainability. Our commitment to crafting durable, enduring clothing means that every piece you own has the potential to stand the test of time, perhaps even generations.

By creating timeless pieces designed to withstand years of wear, we’re actively reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing the environmental impact associated with the clothing industry. This reduction in consumption is a key element in curbing our carbon footprint and promoting a more sustainable future.

When you choose ONE, you’re choosing to invest in fashion that is made to last. Our clothing isn’t just about today; it’s about tomorrow, and the many tomorrows that follow. It’s a conscious choice for both your wardrobe and the planet. Thank you for joining us in this journey to protect the surroundings that we love.

Act 6: Reduce return loops

More people are buying things online and sending them back if they don’t like them because returns are often free. This means homes are being used like fitting rooms. But, this trend is bad for the environment. In the US alone, the pollution from transporting all these returned items went up from 15 to 24 million metric tons of CO2 between 2019 and 2022. To give you an idea, that’s like the pollution from over 5.3 million gas-guzzling cars last year.

To minimize unintentional shopping and reduce returns, we’ve decided to apply a shipping cost and eliminate free returns. Our goal is to encourage thoughtful purchases. We’re committed to providing detailed information about our products, including texture, sizes, fit, and quality, through both descriptions and images on our product pages. If you have any questions or need assistance in choosing the right product, feel free to contact us before making a purchase. We’re here to help you make informed decisions.
